This is about the gap no one is measuring
You’ve done everything right to prepare for your campaign.
The feasibility study came back strong. You’ve made the hires. Your prospect pipeline is built. The case statements are written and sitting in a shared drive, ready for your gift officers to review before their meetings.
And then someone sits down with a donor, gets asked an unexpected question about the college’s priorities, and freezes.
This is the gap no one’s measuring.
We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars assessing whether our institutions are structurally ready for campaigns. We almost never assess whether our fundraisers can actually deliver the conversations those campaigns require.
In this session, you’ll learn:
- Why strengths assessments fall short for fundraising – and what to measure instead when you’re hiring, developing, or evaluating gift officers
- The four indicators that most predict campaign success – including insight gathering, ask effectiveness, navigating donor pushback, and the ability to transition conversations from rapport to the investment opportunity
- How to assess messaging readiness before your team is in front of donors – because reading a case statement and being able to articulate it naturally in conversation are not the same thing
- What to look for in role plays (with or without technology) – a practical rubric you can use immediately to make practice conversations more meaningful
- How leading institutions are adapting to sprint and mini-campaigns – and why shorter campaign cycles make fundraiser readiness even more critical

A free live workshop for fundraisers
This isn’t a lecture. Bring a pen-we’re doing the work live.
Mallory will guide you through one simple exercise that will change how you look at your entire year: mapping your 2025 fundraising activities by the energy they took versus the results they produced.
It sounds simple. It’s surprisingly revealing.
Together we’ll uncover:
- Which activities earned their place in your calendar and which ones just felt productive
- Where you spent the most energy for the least return (and why that keeps happening)
- The patterns you’ve been too busy to see
Then you’ll use what you find to make three clear decisions:
Keep → What’s working and worth protecting
Release → What’s run its course and you can finally set down
Reimagine → What has potential but needs to work differently for you in 2026
You’ll leave with one real insight and one real commitment—not a 47-point action plan you’ll never look at again.
